Tavarede Residences in Anteprojectos magazine: collective housing in Figueira da Foz

Tavarede Residences, an architecture project by Escala Absoluta in Tavarede, Figueira da Foz, was published on page 52 of the December 2024 issue of Anteprojectos magazine.

Presented at preliminary design stage, the scheme proposes two buildings with three residential floors each, set on a gently sloping plot of approximately 4,580 m². The layout seeks to combine practical homes with generous shared spaces and a considered relationship with the surroundings.

Two buildings, different ways of living

The proposal includes 16 apartments: ten two-bedroom and six three-bedroom homes. The interior organisation favours a practical distribution of spaces, suited to different family needs.

Wide balconies extend the homes outdoors, while large glazed openings bring in natural light and open the interiors to the surrounding landscape.

Shared spaces that bring residents together

The outdoor areas include green spaces, pedestrian paths, equipped children's areas and urban furniture. The project also provides shared indoor areas for leisure and social life.

Vehicle and pedestrian access was designed to ease circulation and mobility across the development, connecting the homes to its different spaces.

A contemporary language in Tavarede

Straight lines, balconies and finishes define the architectural expression of the buildings. The publication describes façades clad in dark grey PVC battens, part of a composition that seeks both visual identity and durability.

The Tavarede location is also highlighted for its proximity to the centre of Figueira da Foz, to services, shops and the region's beaches.

The presence of Tavarede Residences in Anteprojectos introduces a proposal by Escala Absoluta that brings together collective housing, places to meet and attention to everyday life.
