Escala Absoluta featured in Anteprojectos magazine with Duque Residences

Duque Residences, a collective housing project developed by Escala Absoluta in Tavarede, Figueira da Foz, is featured in the June 2026 issue of Anteprojectos magazine. The publication presents the building and the practice on pages 20 and 21, bringing together images of the project and a description of its main architectural choices.

Urban integration and natural light

The project seeks a harmonious integration into its urban surroundings, respecting the alignments, scale and volumes of the existing context. The east-west orientation contributes to natural light, ventilation and the quality of the outdoor spaces.

The building holds eight homes, with two and three bedroom layouts, including duplex solutions. Balconies and terraces extend the interiors and strengthen the connection to the outside.

Spaces designed for everyday life

The interior organisation favours functionality, with a clear separation between social and private areas. Open-plan social areas and the direct connection of the main rooms to the outside contribute to comfortable use of the homes.

A contemporary architectural language

The composition is marked by simple volumes, the repetition of openings and the presence of balconies and terraces. The materials combine light grey micro-cement with sepia brown elements, with the slatted cladding on the setback floor standing out.

The window frames and metal elements follow the same palette, creating a coherent image for the whole.

Escala Absoluta in Anteprojectos

The publication also presents Escala Absoluta as an architecture and engineering practice with roots in Figueira da Foz and a presence in Lisbon. It highlights its multidisciplinary team and an approach centred on functionality, personalisation and attention to each client’s needs.
